**All church events are being held online**
Worship at Chicago Community Mennonite Church includes much singing throughout the service, scripture readings, a sermon, sharing joys and concerns, and prayer. We celebrate communion on the last Sunday of each month. The tone of our worship is relatively informal.
Dress can be plain or fancy—however you are feeling that morning! Most worshippers wear casual dress, but suits and church hats are also welcome. Regular attenders feel free to dress according to their gender expression, and we hope you will too.
Parking is free and usually available within one block of the church building on both sides of S. Central Park Blvd, as well as along Congress and on the south side of Van Buren a block north of the church.
Child care is provided for children three and younger, beginning after the Children’s Time portion of our service (about 20 minutes after worship begins). We have a nursery with toys, staffed by two volunteers, where younger children can spend the rest of the service. Older children have tote bags full of coloring books and other fun items that are provided in the mailroom behind the sanctuary. There are tote bags marked Visitor, which you can ask any church member to bring to you. All children are welcome to remain in the sanctuary throughout the service. Their presence is a blessing, not a disruption.
After worship on some Sundays (check our calendar under the "Community" tab) we have Education Second Hour for all ages. Starting fall 2020 there will be two intergenerational tracks: the "Upstairs" track will be a time of creative play and wonder, exploring theological concepts with imagination, art, song, and more. The "Downstairs" track will explore various topics through presentations, discussions, and personal stories. Both tracks will abide by our safety covenant, with at least two adults in any space (physical or digital) where a child is present.
